If you have been left out of a will or believe the provision made for you is inadequate, we can assess your eligibility and explain your options. We also assist with responding to family provision claims against estates. Being dissatisfied with a will does not, by itself, establish an entitlement to a further share. A detailed assessment requires a paid consultation and consideration of the relevant information and documents. We will explain the consultation fee before you book. Time limits can apply, so seek advice promptly.

If a loved one has died without a will, we can advise about the estate and whether an application for letters of administration is appropriate. We assist with applications to the Supreme Court of NSW and explain the administrator’s role in collecting assets, paying liabilities and distributing the estate. Bring the death certificate and any available information about the deceased’s family, assets and liabilities. A free initial 20-minute consultation is available by appointment for general estate enquiries.

We help you record your wishes, choose executors and consider how your estate should be distributed. Tell us about your family, assets, existing documents and any concerns about the people you wish to provide for. We will explain the available options and prepare documents suited to your instructions. Bring identification, any existing will or planning documents, an outline of your assets and liabilities, and the names of proposed beneficiaries and executors. Saturday appointments are available at our Parramatta office from 10am–1pm, by prior arrangement.

A power of attorney allows a person you appoint to make financial and legal decisions on your behalf. An enduring power of attorney can continue if you lose the capacity to make those decisions. We explain the document, discuss the authority you wish to give and assist with preparation and signing. Tell us whom you are considering appointing, the powers you want to grant and any existing arrangements. Consultations in English, Mandarin and Russian can be arranged at our Parramatta office.

An enduring guardian can make specified health and lifestyle decisions when you cannot make those decisions yourself. This is different from managing your finances. We can help you consider whom to appoint and the functions to include. We explain the document and assist with preparation and signing in accordance with your instructions. Tell us about any existing appointments and your wishes for future decisions. Saturday appointments at our Parramatta office are available from 10am–1pm by prior arrangement.
